Trinity Education Center, which became Trinity Christian Academy in 1994, was founded in 1980 to provide a quality Christian education for the children of Trinity Church and San Antonio. In the first year, the school offered a pre-school and kindergarten program with hopes of growing each year. In the next school year, there were approximately 60 children in Kindergarten through the 4th grade with four teachers.
The school grew to serve students through the 8th grade, until 1992. At that time, the parents of those students preparing to enter high school requested the addition of a high school program. Beginning in 1993, a new high school grade was added each year with the first class of seniors graduating in 1997.
During the years leading to the first graduating class, Trinity began preparing for accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International. Accreditation was granted in the summer of 1998.
As the school population continued to grow, more space and improved facilities were needed. In 1999, Trinity Church committed to relocating and began a search for adequate property to build a new church and school campus. Thirty acres of prime real estate in northeast San Antonio was purchased. The four school buildings were constructed first and the church and school families moved onto the campus in November of 2002.
Development continued with the addition of computer lab, athletic field, tennis courts, outdoor picnic areas, playground expansions and fitness room. Today Trinity Christian Academy prides itself in being one of the top Christian schools in San Antonio.
